Arizona State University’s Devils Invent Engineering Design Contest to Feature NKK SmartSwitch®

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – September 11, 2018 – NKK Switches, a world leading designer and manufacturer of electromechanical switches, has formed a new partnership with Arizona State University, Ira A. Fulton Schools of Engineering to donate SmartSwitch products for Devils Invent, a weekend-long engineering and design challenge for Freshman-Ph.D. students.

NKK donated SmartSwitch development kits for the contest, which are composed of two SmartSwitch pushbuttons pre-programmed for basic operation. The student participants are challenged to come up with an application for SmartSwitch that could simplify a daily task.

The Devils Invent contest will take place September 21-23rd at ASU’s Generator Labs located on the Tempe campus. The weekend-long hackathon contest concludes with student team presentations and designs judged by a panel of NKK and ASU staff. NKK will be awarding over $2500 in prizes for the top designs.
